About Kate
Overview and Background
I am a single parent of a young man with ADHD and Autism and understand the challenges associated with this, not only for the individual concerned but also for their partners, family and friends. For the last 10 years I have worked with vulnerable adults with mental health issues, learning difficulties and with neurodiversity challenges. I have seen the consequences of individuals not being able to access help when it is needed which prompted my decision to train as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I also do voluntary work with a Youth Club in Exeter as their Safeguarding lead.
Outside of Work
I’m a huge animal lover and enjoy walking my two dogs by the River Exe and generally being in nature, living in Exeter enables me to do this and we often visit the beach, woods and Dartmoor which are all nearby. My other passion is travelling and I’ve been lucky enough to travel to over 30 countries and love to experience different cultures.
